1945- 1946 As Freshmen, we crowded the halls of Madison. Yes, at last we were in high school, and we were the largest class at Madison. The Freshmen class was very active on M Day, and we won second place in the events of the day. We had a successful class party at the city park, and a well planned Freshmen Flip went over extra well. Bob Powell made the main basketball team and Frank Jenkins won the Cross Country race. 1946- 1947 As sophomores we again crowded the halls. We had lost a few of our number but were still a very active class. That year we won the class series in basketball. Jerry McCulloch won the cross country race. La Ree Munns was the only sophomore in the school play and Thespian Club. We had two class parties. One of them was a swimming party at Pincocks. Our Sophomore Frolic was a booming success. 1947- 1948 We were then Juniors! Our number had dwindled more, but we were still outstanding. We again won the class series in basketball. Gwenna Robinson (Young), Valene Cherry, and Dolores Topham all served as Student Body Officers. Our Junior Prom was held in the Madison Gym. Our decorations were memorable. Bob Powell received his State Farmer Degree. 1948- 1949 The Senior Class is now the smallest class at Madison. Nevertheless, we won the Class series in basketball for the third consecutive year. LeRoy Anderson, Joan Nelson, Joe Ann Anderson, and Jerry McCulloch from the Senior Class served as Student Body Officers. Five boys from the Senior Class are on the basketball team. The Senior Play, a three act comedy, was a great success; also the Senior Ball will be remembered as a successful event. Now to all Seniors, Graduation Day is near. As we leave the halls of Madison High, we wish to her students, and to the faculty — The Very Best of Everything. 20
