CALENDAR FRESHMAN YEAR September 3 — The first day of school. Pedagogues looked kindly at the largest class ever registered at Madison High School. 19 — The Freshman assembly proved that not all talent was in the upper classes. November 2 3 — Remember the Peanut Prom and how many Freshies turned out. They had such a good time they forgot all about days of tag and hop-scotch. 2 8 — Thanksgiving! and back from the recess with an average gain in weight of eight pounds and this includes LeVar Chambers. December 1 8 — Upper classmen began watching the Freshmen more closely after their successful introduction of a class Misfit Dance. 25 — Merry Christmas! We have news that Warren Porter cried himself to sleep because his cruel mother told him the truth about Santa Claus. Ralph Tea told Eldon Hinckley the truth about Santa, and Eldon at once called him a fibber. SOPHOMORE YEAR September 17 — Class elections. Douglas Harris was hailed President of the Sophs, and other offices were bestowed upon: Arlene Derr, Helen Hegsted, Ruth Nadauld and Warren Porter. November 18 — Who has forgotten that first Thanksgiving party? Saucy hats, plenty of food and free turkeys — if you were lucky. December 25 — Christmas again! Corine Williams waited up for Santa ' s reindeers — thought she might catch one for a pet. Dee Smith was found smothering under the covers. He thought he had seen the dear old man, and fearing he would not be visited if he were not in bed, he dived in — clothes and all. January 10 — The Sophomores displayed their wit and wares in an assembly. Joseph Madison made his debut as Major Bowes. March 3 1 — The opera, Chimes of Normandy , initial presentation. Sophomore stars proved equal to those of the Metropolitan. April 17 — Carnivals are carnivals at Madison. Phyllis Pincock as Paulette Goddard and Myron Brown as Charlie Chaplin added much to the parade. April 22 — Steer, Steer, for Madison High! Douglas Bean placed Madison High on the map at San Francisco when he was awarded first place for his champion steer. JUNIOR YEAR September — It was a real group of student body officers who began reign at Madison this year — why? — four of them were Juniors. 25 — Football game at Driggs proved that Junior boys know what to do with a pigskin. ' « )ctober — The classy Junior;, showed the school how to put on a program and how to carry out a successful Junior week. 24 — Juniors came through with flying colors during the round robin basketball tourney. November 6 — Juniors showed their results of the harvest when their representative was crowned queen of the Harvest Ball.
