As we look back on our s chool years , and bring to memory all we have accomplished we stop to think. The knowledge we have gained, and every skill we have mastered, we owe to you, Mothe r and Dad, for the oppor- tunity given us. Also we cannot overlook the many times when we have made mistakes, some of our deeds could not be looked upon with pride. These few wo r d s do not begin to say the appreciation we feel, but in return for your many s a c r ific e s , we will strive to b e c om e men and wo rn e n , of which you will be proud. We, the graduating cla s s of 1957, dedicate this year- b ook to you, dear parents , as a token and symbol of our gratitude. elf? ,fa-,ve's,af Za Our Parvuts 411: Editor -in-Chief Nancy Spencer wi si Typist Marie Cox Typist Hazel Parrish Sports Editor Paul Knight Art Editor Deann Hutchings ,Annual Staff N ,sails AH - -- 1 V1 mrfsfxgg QM 355,55 W- A ' ' Quinn f 4 aff ,V ,V,,, L ... , sg11,,ggg - ' ,, - Z-2229? -NN- Q 'I ' ' Y ' fag 'Q i A M X34 ,fs is walk: W aa if W we ig U ww fx 2 W we rw 5 H 3'5 if 306 Advertising Manager Benny Freeman Busine s s Manager Ann Knight Associate Editor Wendell Manuel Activities Yvonne Thacker Sponsor Sara Norris Supcriutmdeuf A Message to the Class of '57 Congratulations I May you always possess the courage to face hardships, the wisdom to solve problems, and the faith to overcome obstaclesg and may your heart be filled with the joy of serving, the peace of forgiving, and the happiness of loving mankind My deff vV. But here we stand with steps unstepped, As onward we look, as onward we pave. Mighty is that round that has been made, Sure and sound as one could beg But there's more, many more Before one completes his history. Oh, how it seems that just yesterday Our school years here did start, With each mind wandering but gay, As he knew in four years he must part. But, why are they to part? Is the question not so vivid to the smaller. Taking the one aside, like a mother, we answer, Because we're advancing into the world-further and further. There are many debts that cannot be paid To our teachers, parents and friends so kind, But to each one we would like to say, Once someone was your guide, Now you're mine. Yes, our first round has been made, And it is to our school we pledge in main, But to master our art and profession Is the next ladder we hope to gain. And when ladders after ladders have been climbed, And everyone has reached his eternal success, We can count those ladders and know That the one started here proved to be the best. 'Tis true, Parting is such sorrow g But there is a part of us that still remains. We leave our swords, our marks and scars we carry As onward we look, as onward we pave. Ann Knight My sword I leave to him who can get it. My marks and scars I carry with me to be 1 witness.
