' M fa 4 Sfufure flamcmakcrs af America The Future Homemakers are one of the most active organizations in our school. Initiation Day is one looked forward to with anxiety by all freshmen. The chapter attends all district rallys and state meet- ings. This year the membership is the largest ever in Madison High School. In addition to business meet- ings held at the activity period during the school day, the club has held a series of night meetings. These meetings have included an Initiation Party, Christ- mas Gift Wfrappings by Mrs. Trent, our advisor, Grooming, by a local beauty operator, Party Refresh- ments, by Miss Addie Malone of the Duke Power Company, and Degrees of Achievement by a panel Ofhccrs Preyidezzl ,.,.,...,. Sixty corsages were made and sold at Christmas time and enough money was earned to enable the club to buy a felt emblem and other chapter materials. The final activity of FHA is making plans and attending the Wliite Lake Camp, where representatives learn how to build a bigger and better chapter for Madison High School during 1955-54. ' The highlights of the FHA year came when Annie 'lo Lawson fpictured at leftj was elected state song leader at the district rally in Gibsonville. The club is quite proud of Annie lo and is sure she will make a grand song leader for North Carolina.
