Junior Class Officers 'X ' Ie if . M' it ii M 'kim 5-an QE . - 1 r 1 f Sieggie Smith, Presidentg Herbert Collins, Vice-President: Pat Swann, Secretaryg Linda Cardwell, Treasurer. Late in the summer of 1949 a group of scared and excited young people began their high school careers in M. H. S. During the eighth grade several students had joined us from Intelligence and then we gained several from Huntsville so we were a large class. We thought ourselves lucky to have Mr. Cure and Mrs. G. T. Martin as our sponsors and with their help we went through that first week without any broken bones . It was fun getting used to the new routine of school work and before we knew it it was May and we were free for summer vacation. All too soon vacation was over and we came back to school a little happier with the thought that we were Sophomores. The year proved to be a successful one with Mrs. Fagge and Miss Epps as our able leaders. The year was ended with a weiner roast for the Seniors which was held at the Mason's pond. Everyone injoyed it and we had loads of fun. When the school year of 1951 began we entered school determined to make this the most suc- cessful year we had known so far. Immediately we began working on our Junior-Senior Banquet. Miss Maude Webster and Miss Elizabeth Davis have proven valuable in our plans as our Junior Leaders. All ready we have had several cake sales and have operated a concession stand at the home football games. Our desire is to do good work and to leave Madison High a better place because we were part of it. l27l
