This year, Madison High's football team got off to a poor start by being defeated in their first two games. In the first game of the season, Mills Home won 12 to 6, and in the next game Guilford won 34 to 20. Madison stepped out of their class in the third game, and although rated as the underdog, came up to beat Rankin 26 to 19. The Wildcats were overpowered by Trinity, who won 26 to 7. Next on the list were Mayodan and Draper. Madison took both of these games, beating Mayodan 33 to 7 and Draper 20 to 6. Walnut Cove defeated Madi- son in the Homecoming Game by a score of 18 to 7. Again, the Wildcats stepped out of their class to meet a strong Jamestown team. Jamestown won 20 to 0. But, in the last game of the season Madison journeyed to Stoneville where they rolled over the Stoneville eleven to such an extent that they were unable to score. The final score in that game was 33 to 0. The season's record was three wins and four losses in Class A football and one win and one loss in Class AA football, making a grand total of four wins and five losses.
