In music we found our class well represented. There were 13 freshman in the Band, 20 in the Orchestra, and 119 in the A Cappella Choir. In the Speech de- partment honors were won by Doris Reed in debating and Miriam Westerman in declamation. In athletics Layton Clement and Gordon Bausclce received their UA . Also, later in the season many freshmen were on the basketball, baseball, and tennis squads. We wonder l But not verdant, we are sure, for as you glance down the history of the class you will find at least two or three Frosh sprinkled around in every activity. Our first class meeting was held on September 13, 1934. We elected 'Clare Munger, president, Martha Lamb, Secretary, Arlie Rogers, treasurer, and Randall Palmer, sergeant-at-arms. A student affairs committee was also elected, composed of Helen Foster, Elmer Kapnick, and Vincent Comstock. We chose Mr. Kelly as our class adviser. Our class party was held March 1, with great success, in the Masonic Temple.

GIPTATORY BETTY MYERS AND NELLIE ToWNsEND IT has been an established custom during the history of Adrian High School to present various members of the respective senior classes with a gift as a token of appreciation for their outstanding achievements. It is our privilege to carry on this custom. The first gift we have to present is this small rattle which must go to Agnes Goodwin so we may have peace and quiet for the remainder of the evening. Here is an encyclopedia which can go to none other than Arnold Beckel as a reward for his studiousness in school. Look here l A bottle of medicine, Cure for the Giggles, but for whom can it be? Ha, I have it l Betty Van Dusen certainly deserves it as she has a decided case of the giggles. And what is this but a can of Chinese Red paint which obviously is intended for Mabel Hayford I This will enable her to redecorate her modish Ford coupe. Here is something else-a comb and mirror which we hope will be of assistance to Fred Chelf in keeping his hair straight. 4 Well, here is another bottle of something. Oh, I see upon closer observation that it is some henna shampoo for Agnes Evilsiser so that she may preserve her youthful looking red hair. And here is a little Baer which must find its place in the hands of Ellis Berndt. We hope it will console him during his blue moments. To Virginia Kuster we wish to present this crown. We hope it will always bring her pleasant memories of her King. Here is a small megaphone and to whom will it be useful? Ah, it isi surely meant for Jessie Spaur so she may emphasize her low voice. To Anna Buelke we present this black bow tie to give to her Butler when she obtains him. Her heart strings seem to be pulling that way. We have here several small books which we hope will give valuable assistance to the receivers. The first, Advice Concerning Blondes, goes to Bob Woller, seeing that he appears to be quite concerned, and, when he is done with it, he may pass it on to his cousin, Willis Woller, who could also use it to a good advantage. To Myrtle Weisz we give this book, 'QUseful Hints for Married Lifef' and she may in turn pass it on to her friends, Wilma Whitcher, Louise Shaffer, and Romena Bennett who are also going to take the fatal step. And here is another, How to Remedy Bashfulnessf, And undoubtedly it is well deserved by Willard Whitcher whose motto seems to be that little children should be seen and not heard. To the most quiet boy in our class, Leonard Shober, we give this drum and drumstick. He can give us a signal so we may know when he is coming. And this bit of sleeping apparatus is for Jean Westerman, our Valedictorian. She will now have a chance to catch up on her slumbering hours she has lost due to the great amount of time she has spent at her studies. This Free Ticket to Hollywood goes to Dorothy Hill. She may now have her longed-for opportunity to become Zasu Pitts II. And here is a Violet which we are sure will be appreciated by Dick Marlatt. It appears to have given a new hue to Dick's days of late. As our last gift we wish to bestow our best wishes for the success of the junior and freshman classes of this year. We hope that they will uphold the customs of Adrian High School and earn new honors for her. In conclusion, we wish, in behalf of the graduating class of 1935, to extend our thanks to parents and teachers for having so thoughtfully guided us through school.
