'UT' manual labor is not enough. We 'must work with our minds as well as with our hands. Knowledge- and ideals are also needed in preparing the peace that we hope to build and to keep. The love of fellowmen must be in- stilled into all hearts so that war will never again threaten the progress of man. There must be no class or racial distinction among the peoples of the earth. Much will be demanded of us. Let the life of J oan of Arc ever remind us that no sacrifice is too great. Into the hands of the lawyer with his justice, the doctor with his healing, the teacher with his knowledge, the scientist with his vision, the writer with his ideals will much of this task fall. These are the people who raise the standard of living for all the world, who increase the spirit of good will among nationsg who bring beauty and culture into the lives of all. Gur ,Soldiers are fighting for a better world. We dedicate our work, our thought, our dreams to building it.

.' i' .,- . PON our strong young shoulders will be placed the difficult task of building the peace that is to come. From the sweat of our bodies must come good schools, comfortable homes, and broad highways to connect and bind our country more closely togethera With our hands we shall mold our villages, towns, and cities into places where people can live in peace and comfort. Into this project must enter everyone: the architect with his plan, the carpenter with his hammer, the mason with his trowel, the mechanic with his chisel, the Welder with his torch, the laborer with his shovel, and all the plain people who work to make America what it is. The skyscraper with its strength and beauty is proof of the ability and greats ness of working people. It -stands high in the world as if to say: I have been built by good honest people, peoplef not afraid of ihard workg I am but a sample of what can be accomplished by them. Let it inspire us to use other materials, our wisdom and understanding, to shape the superstructure for a peaceful world.
