The setting ofthe play was in a small town near Budapest in llungary. ln the play two charafters, Horkoy and Mitzi, were conspiring to get the three older sisters married so that Mitzi would he free to do as she pleased. The ellorts to have young Baron tlida marry Kalinka failed and it was tlida's uncle, Colonel Hadviany who married her. The next girl in line was Sari. For her, Lieutenant Sandorlfy, a member ol' Parliament, was Chosen. Ile l.lIlliIl0WiI'lgly fell into their trap and Sandorliy and Sari were married. ln the third act tiida who fell victim to their plans became engaged to lilla. Later the trap back- lired. llorkoy and Mitzi were discovered and they too became engaged. The humorous antics of the three youngest girls, Terka, Liza, and Klara, the lisping of Toni Teleki, and the stupidness of Baron tiida kept the humor going. 28
