To the class ol' 'Ill they have been especially memorable this year, for they are our last in Madison .... School routine seemed hard after a carefree summer, hut football, soccer, clubs, and the operetta quiekly drew us into the spirit ol our senior year. Before we knew it, winter was upon us liriliging skating, skiing, basketball, and our De-leer. With spring came the successful senior play, our unforgettable prom and the thrill of nearing graduation. livery- thing seemed to crowd into those happy linal weeks .... So that we seuiers and the rest of the school body can rememher these events just as they happened, we have set them down chronologically with the seasons. We hope you will like our reeordg and to you undergraduates we say, Carry on Y as Q 2 Q 'N Y K A x 'X f X TN -g 'W . With a keen sense of indebtedness, we dedicate this yearliooli to Miss li. AN Madison's Band is to be complimented on its fine work for the school. Mr. Moore, the conductor, has helped the band a great deal in directing and generally supervising the work. There are in the band fifty musicians, a great part of whom are Inter-High Band members. The band reflects the school's spirit of eo-operation at all times. They furnish music and sometimes perform at the various games of soccer, football, and basketball. F When appearing at the games, the band has given Madison a good showing. The drum majors deserve credit for their splendid performances. Successful demonstrations have been put on both at the games and on the school stage. Not only the band's appearance but also their playing deserves recognition. Among the Rochester high schools, Madison has earned recognition as being one of the top playing bands in the city. The annual band concert has always been a success. Especially well liked last year was the band's arrangement of the Rhapsody in Blue. These student musicians spend a large part of their time practic- ing and playing at different functions. So let's take our hats off to Mr. Moore and the Madison Band for their splendid accomplishments. 19 f I THE MADI 0 I-'wmv' mm: ffl:-:v'r,w'v. 7'l'I'l'lllll'l'. ,lnnunziulrn slnzunxlm num: li1m4lri1'l:. llulfnix. lirunn, Tlmrlw. The setting ofthe play was in a small town near Budapest in llungary. ln the play two charafters, Horkoy and Mitzi, were conspiring to get the three older sisters married so that Mitzi would he free to do as she pleased. The ellorts to have young Baron tlida marry Kalinka failed and it was tlida's uncle, Colonel Hadviany who married her. The next girl in line was Sari. For her, Lieutenant Sandorlfy, a member ol' Parliament, was Chosen. Ile l.lIlliIl0WiI'lgly fell into their trap and Sandorliy and Sari were married. ln the third act tiida who fell victim to their plans became engaged to lilla. Later the trap back- lired. llorkoy and Mitzi were discovered and they too became engaged. The humorous antics of the three youngest girls, Terka, Liza, and Klara, the lisping of Toni Teleki, and the stupidness of Baron tiida kept the humor going. 28 MARY ALANO Lannie 211 Atkinson Street Dark eyes flashing, laughter gay: We all love Mary's charming way.
