To the Classes of '38 . Greetings from Franlclin l-ligh School and from Seattle. Wholesome young people who are proud of their Northwest, loyal to their school, friendly, modest, tolerant, and without snobbery or sham. That's Franlclin High School. Across Lalce Washington, the Cascades, startlingly beau- tiful when sunset changes their snowy tops to gleaming silver, to the west, the Olympics, a sterner, more rugged range, snow-capped Rainier, the Mountain in the Slay, sunsets over Puget Sound, and then a fairyland of lights reflected in l.al4e Union, oft toward the slcy, lonely Firs, the lingering thrill of a yet untamed country! Everywhere, spaciousness the evidence of a city only just emerged, and about which is still a cleanness and Flavor of the wild. Thatls Seattle. Bertha E. Cuyler Mount Ranier Franklin High School, Seattle, Washington
