ANNUAL STAFF Who ever said I wanted to be Editor? 8

Page 11 text:

Fellow-Students, This has truly been a year to go down in the pages of history in the South. As seniors, this is perhaps one of the most important years of our lives - and definitely one of tne most enjoyable. We take particular pride in the fact that we, the class of ’66, will be the first class in the history of MHS to graduate over 100 students. On graduation night, 107 students will receive their long-awaited diplomas. The class of '66 has witnessed, and has been a part of, a great change in our dear old Southland. This year, for the first time, our school was integrated. In years to come, integration will be a common thing, but for us the change was a novelty. It will be many years before integration can be completely accepted in the hearts and minds of all Southerners. But the first step has been taken, and we have not fallen. Madison High School has completed a year in the course of its history that we can be proud of. We have witnessed what could very well mark a change in Our Southern Scene.” Geraldine Almand ’66 Mahisco GERALDINE ALMAND, Co-Editor The staff hard at work . . . ” A typical scene on campus.” 7
