Bethel Miss Mae L. Waters It is with deep affection and gratitude that we the Senior Class of 1969 dedicate the Madisonian to two former teachers, who were not only loyal to their chosen profession, but supported quality education for the students that they taught. Miss Jean Bethel served faithfully as a teacher at Madison High School for 26 of her 41 teaching years. She proved her loyalty to the students by being sponsor of the Junior-Senior prom for many years. She helped to advance many of the students to higher fields of learning. We shall long remember her as a teacher who assisted the students in any way she could. Miss Mae Waters experienced 37 of her 41 wonderful teaching years at Madison High School. She helped to progress the knowledge of the students to its highest degree. She displayed her affection for the students by promoting the advantages of school. She will also be greatly remembered for assisting with the school newspaper, the Trojan. We shall all miss the great personality and gratitude that she exhibited to every person in the school system, and the way she helped to encourage the advancement of education for everyone. JOHN N. SHARON LANG As we, the members of the graduating class of 1969, approach this new day in our lives, we pause for a moment in memory of one of our classmates who, through death, is unable to be with us: yet our fond memories of Sharon Lang will continue to be with us--wherever we go and whatever we do. Her friendly smile and wonderful person- ality will always be remembered by the faculty and students of Madison High and most assuredly by those who knew her. 26 Junior Class Pres., V. Ford V. Madisonian Staff Latin Club The Latin Club, spon- sored by Mr. Mehelic, serves a very important purpose in our high school. It provides activities which are both educational and entertaining and which serve to increase the Latin students' appreciation of the Roman culture and its influence on Western civ- ilization. The 1968-69 officers are: Patricia Boyles, Presi- dent; Debra Whitner, Vice President; Janis Stewart, Secretary; and Connie Haddock, Treasurer. The 1968-69 officers are: Rose Marie Hackett, President; Patricia Boyles, Vice President; Janet Schwartz, Secretary; Debbie Holt, Treasurer; Debbie Guentzel, Point Captain; Sharon Barham, Sports Manager. Junior and Senior G.A.A. members G.A.A. Freshman and Sophomore G.A.A. members Each year the G.A.A. initiates the new mem- bers by making them do things such as dressing out of the or- dinary and col- lecting pennies from the other students. This proves to be fun for both the new and old members. A party was held for the in- iates after school the day of initia- tion, at which the initiates per- formed skits and were made of- ficial members of G.A.A.
