Class History Freshman Year As freshmen we found ourselves lost in a maze of students, classrooms, and long cor- ridors but, the seniors soon located us and plans were made for freshman day. The comical assortment of clothing worn was not only amusing to the seniors but, to the freshmen as well. It consisted of: Girls—feedbag skirt, men's bib overalls, man's hat and tennis shoes, and onion necktie; Boys—feedbag blouse, tattered skirt, woman's hat and handbag, and garlic earrings. With the excitement of initiation being over, we began to get down to serious work. Our first big task was to elect class officers. They were: President, Tom Layman; Vice- President, Anna Terrell; Secretary, Linda Taylor; and Treasurer, Linda Pate. Sophomore Year Well, we had come up in the world, we had become Lower-Upper classmen. Our first major objective was to elect class officers. They were: President, Dan Reilly; Vice-President, Linda Pate; Secretary, Vernon Wilson; and Treasurer, Ernestine Zimmerman. The Jr. Varsity cheerleaders chosen, were Judy Brown and Linda Taylor. The majorette chosen from our class was Ernestine Zimmerman. Junior Year The Junior year began much the same as our Sophomore year. The officers elected were: President, Dan Reilly; Vice President, Linda Taylor; Secretary, Linda Pate; and Treasurer, Vernon Wilson. The cheerleaders advanced to Varsity position, and we added another member to the majorettes, Connie Vivod. The most outstanding event of the Junior year was the Junior-Senior Prom, Dancing in the Dark. The year ended with the ordering of our class rings. Senior Year We are Seniors. Just the word makes us feel important. The officers elected for our big year are: President, Dan Reilly; Vice-President, Bill Kinder; Secretary, Jerry Price; Treasurer, Vernon Wilson. One of our main events this year, was the Talent Show, Talent of 58 , directed by Mr. Barton. Other important events were. Class Day, May 23; Baccalaureate, May 25; Skip Day, May 28, and the biggest event of all, Graduation, May 29. Although we have anticipated the time when we would no longer be a member of Madison High, we feel a great deal of regret at having to leave the school which we have been so much a part of for four years.
