THE NINETEEN M. H. S. FOREWORD T the beginning of this school year, a sugges- tion was made in the Senior class to the effect that the M. H. S. students have a school paper. This suggestion was enthusiastically re- ceived, just as all new ideas are, and a com- mittee was appointed to investigate the practicability of the enterprise. Needless to say, however, we soon found that the proposition was “too strong for our pocket-books.” We were a group of gloomy (but none the less digni- fied) seniors until someone breathed, “Why not have an annual?” That was the spark that lit the flame. Certainly we’d have an annual. Every progressive school has one, so why shouldn’t we? We should; we cculd; we would ; and we did—Q. E. D. As this is the first attempt of the school at anything of this kind, we have been handicapped through lack of a precedent and experience. Yet, on the whole, we feel very well satisfied with our accomplishment. We extend our thanks to all those in school and out who have aided us in the furtherance and success of our plan. We take this opportunity to bid all of our old school- mates (including the Freshies) and the teachers a fond farewell. —The Staff. Three
