Valedicfory Tonight our minds are torn by conflicting emotions-although we look forward to new horizons and the exciting sense of adventure, we also feel regret-regret in leaving these halls where we have had so much pleasure. Our days at Madison have given us hope, knowledge, and courage. Tohugh we cannot know what the future holds in store for us, we hope it will be as bright and happy as the past. We would not have been able to reach this goal if it were not for the patience and guidance of our teachers, and if we have been too careless to thank all of you-please accept our gratitude now. Next, We Want to thank our parents for their love, understanding, and devotion. Parents are often taken for granted, but tonight as we ourselves are ready to accept responsibilities-we begin to realize what a wonderful job they have done! We can Xonly hope that we will be a credit to our parents, our teachers, and our community. - CAROLE LONDER January, 1950
