D Respmwibtlitg, and Glen Johnson, James Casler, Gary Nelson, Marvin Holcomb, and Roger Southmayd attended Boys' State at Northern State Teachers College. During the week they will study the fundamental principles of government. They will apply these principles in their own campaigns and elections held during their stay. The boys receiving this honor were chosen by the school faculty for their outstanding leadership and scholastic ability. Pam Hanlon was Central's DAR representative this year. The Senior class made the nominations and the faculty selected the candidate from these nominees. She must have outstanding qualities in her church, school, and home life. The Girls' Staters for 1964 are Carol Terry and Kay Amert. They studied government functions and ran for offices. Girls' State was held at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell.
