IUC! some Game Wunnzby The track team was composed of the following boys: Bob Yerigan, Ray Thomas, Myron Nelson, Frank Leach, Harv Kortman, Jon Maroon, LeRoy Wrigg, Stuart Tidblom, Greg Gile, Jim Appelwick, Russell Johnson, Gordon Johnson, Larry Krueger, Chuck Wenk, Jerry Elshere, Roger Stanford, Dan Strang, Gary Heidelberger, Frank Brehe, Dan Bohl, Gary Rook, and Craig Smit. The Bulldogs attended meets in Sioux Falls, Flandreau, Mitchell, Sioux City, Worthington, Aberdeen, and Watertown. The last meet of the season for the Bulldogs was the ESD meet held at Flynn Field. Robert Yerigan took several firsts this year in the high jump, Ray Thomas, Myron Nelson, Jon Maroon, and Chuck Wenk, mile relay team, represented Central at the State Track Meet. 40 Chuck Wenk shows his skill at pole vaulting. He set a new school record of 11 feet.

Bill and his band have won honors in many parts of the country. This summer the band will take part in a national marching contest in Mason City, Iowa. This is a part of the premiere of the movie, Music Man. Good luck, band! Win or lose, you will always be a great band to us. The band performs at all football and basketball games during the year. They play for pep meetings. As a concert band, the MHS band took another first in the music contest. Every spring the band has its spring concert. Summer brings marching and several trips for Bill and his band. This summer the band will use its new band shell for its summer concerts. To you, the MHS band, we, Central students, give our congratulations and thanks for your wonderful work.
