This territory became the homeland of many pioneers who came with only a courageous spirit and a strong will to make their lives better. The determination of these men and women enabled them to brave the hardships and loneliness of settling a virgin land which gave us the heritage that is ours today. The accomplishments of the early pioneer are evident in agriculture, legislation,and science. We students are faced with the challenge of continuing the great work of our fore- fathers. Madison Central High, as an educational institution, TS proud to PGY homage to The earit' pioneers who are responsible for founding the South Dakota Territory, and enacting the laws under which we operate.
