Gist, who was elected as one of the nine com- missioners. Others elected were: R. Olson, J. Borns, L. Holdorf, D. Halseth, G. Chapman, M. Rames, M. Arneson , and K. Kessler. 2. R. Hill and L. Jacobs presided over the court where several MHS students were tried for various things. B. Tomscha acted as city attorney. 3. The law was strictly enforced by these patrolmen. They are from left to right: D. MilIer,A. Hess, C.Liddiard, J. Kirkeby, and D. Oines. 5. A member of the American Legion gave a brief talk at a student assembly, before the days activities began. 6. The sewage disposal plant was one of the points which the com- missioners vislted on their tour of the city.

These distinguished gentlemen, L. Jacobs and R. Hill, were the police magis- trates for the day. 4. E. Arechuck, head billing clerk, and her assistant, L. Hegg, and K. Kreul, learned about this phase of city govern- ment by doing some of the duties of a billing clerk. 5. J. Tofflemlre and D. McDonald were city engineers for the day. 6. Looking over the books in the treasurer's office are L. Cross, city treasurer, and her assistant, C. Jung.
