I I CLASS PROPHECY It was a typrcal day rn May 1968 rn the brg crty of Portland Indrana when Max Clevenger blew hrs polrce whrstle at a 1968 Cadrllac that had run a red lrght Lo and behold rt was the former Mary Lou Hogg now Mary Krrsten the new and rrsrng young Hollywood movre queen wrth her was Delores Pursley her wardrobe manager and creator Max pushed one of the many buttons on the lrght pole srgnrfyrng he was gotng off duty and got rnto the car wrth Mary Lou and Delores They went to a famrlrar hrgh school Sweet Shop and talked over old days and therr classmates of 1958 Mary Lou found Max was marrred and had frve chrldren She suggested takrng htm and hrs wrfe on a trrp to frnd the rest of therr classmates Max remembered Allen Hrlfrker was a brg farmer wrth a thousand acres of land They went to hrs brg estate and talked for hours Allen had heard ltttle of hrs classmates rn hrs busy lrfe but remembered that Larry Kunkle had gone up rn the frrst man operated satellrte They decrded to go to Florrda to see Larry On the way down they stopped rn a waysrde restaurant and saw the famrlrar face of LeEtta Manor After chattrng a whrle LeEtta told them of another classmate Charles Bentz After seerng Larry they headed west toward Texas Gorng through the mam street of Brloxr Mrssrssrppr they saw another famrlrar face They called to the tall dark and handsome young Arr Force Lreutenant John Theurer John showed them the Arr Force Base and after tryrng some of the maneuvers went onward In Texas they frnally found Cowboy Charley Bentz and hrs orl wells and Cadrllacs Charles took them to a super Texas crrcus and found Edwrn Adkrns as the Champton Pre Eater Thrs was amusrng but not really surprrsrng rememberrng how he lrked to eat rn school Slrm had seen several of hrs frrends durrng hrs travels and related these to the four On the way to Wrsconsrn Max bought a newspaper thrnkrng to catch up on the news Hrs eyes glanced over the edrtor and saw Martlyn Newell s name occupyrng that spot So the four stopped rn front of the largest Denver newspaper Marrlyn had an assrgnment to cover a program rn the brg colrseum Lookrng down from therr box seats they thought they spred the round face of Arlene Morrrs as a partner on a comedy team Marrlyn s creden trals let them backstage Arlene told of her experrences srnce school and found out about the classmates they had seen Reachrng Madrson Wrsconsrn therr destrnatron they found Denny Wallace at the local bowlrng alley Mrracle Lanes He had recently been named Bowler of the Year and told how he won the award It seems hrs ball was always gorng rn the gutter so he glued a broom handle as wrde as the alley to two balls Wrth thrs method he guaranteed them a strrke every trme Max and hrs wrfe had never been on a ferry so Mary Lou sard they would cross the Strarts of Mackrnac on a ferry The car was on board and the four were walkrng around and ran rnto Captarn Eddre Imel' Mary Lou sard they would go to New York next to renew memorres of the Class Trrp Whrle there they went to Radro Crty Musrc Hall and saw Clara Merry as a member of the famous Rockettes It seemed she had lrked New York Crty so well that she went back Gorng back home through Washrngton D C they saw a famrlrar brunette wrth several brunettes walkrng besrde her and another rn her arms Carol Shull had just been named Mother of the Year wrth another honor of havrng an all boy famrly of nrne Arrrvrng back rn Indrana they saw the brg newspaper headlrnes proclarmrng the young party record breaker Ruth Lake had won the nomrnatron for state representatrve Some even seemed to thrnk that rn the next ten years she would be Presrdent of the Unrted States Havrng seen all the classmates Mary Lou and Delores bade goodbye to Max and started back to Hollywood where a wonderful career awarted them Thrs page sponsored by RAY'S ELECTRIC SERVICE n 1 1 U v 1 I I 1 1 0 . 1 1 1 - 1 . , , . 1 - 1 1 - 0 n 1 - , . 1 . . .
