Most of the building was com- pleted during the time that William Rousch was trustee. The finishing of the building and the equipping was done by Samuel Kuder, the next trustee. Our school building is a modern structure of nine- teen rooms. A continuous commission was given to the school on the basis of a 6-6 plan. That is, the first six grades are down stairs, and the seventh and eighth grades and the four year high school are upstairs. with this system of teaching it is possible to HHV6 an exper- ienced teacher for each subyect group in the upper six grades. Each teacher is able to devote more time to the separate classes in the field in which he is specialized. ' The present faculty is composed of seven teachers in the Senior and Junior A. S. and three teachers in the lower six grades. Madison nigh School has become well Known in de- bating, oratorical contests, athletics, and many other lines. Our debating teams have proved the equal of others in this territory. Our oratorical representatives have won many laurels for the school. In athletics we are always equal and some times better than our neighbor- ing schools. We have been COUNTY CHAMPIONS in basketball six times and one time in baseball since the school start ed twelve years ago. A commercial course was added to this school in the year 1927. Since that time many students have taken ad- vantage of this course. The present enrollment of the upper six grades is 154. 89 of these students are in the four year high school, while 45 students are in the seventh and eighth, grades. The enrollment in the lower six grades is 121 ' students. x X -.f ,MQTX X in ,.Mlb f-,H ., i.,f WM . ,W x ff N.....Lj.....j 'x,,...:.i-..---! 'x..,-,:i-,.,.,- .3 X-..,--.T.L,,-,,,,f 2
