Upon entering Madison every stu- dent is assigned a boys' or girls' counselor who lends a cooperative and understanding hand throughout his remaining years at Madison. '-Lu... fl., WW.,-I ,, Among their many duties counselors assist students and teachers in order to improve relationships and provide for individual needs. Some of the counse1or's time is spent assisting students in planning programs, taking into consideration the individual's interests. This year each counselor took one step farther in rS21Chi11g his students by visiting at least one registra- tion class everyday. In addition, counselors spent considerable time help- ing students make college and career decisions. Students appreciate private rooms. 23

Art Classes Shape Student Talents Varied art courses were offered this year con- taining many interesting projects. In the com- mercial art classesg place mats, posters, and menu covers were made for the Russian Ren- aissance Restaurant. In the spring, craft classes designed and flew their own kites. Ceramic classes enjoyed a sculpture project involving the human figure. Sand paintings were made, and the annual Italic Handwriting Contest was held.
