Nearly everyone at one time or another has contributed to help make the class of '64 one of the most active and unified classes in Madison's. history. Kicking aff our high school career, we held class elections and chose Dave Orkney to lead us. Our first year was difficult, but we made rapid adiustments. Along with other activities, our class helped put on a very suc- cessful Freshman-Sophomore tal- ent assembly. Jan Mascall headed our Soph- omore class. This year we held our first class party. Three hun- dred of us attended and an en- ioyable time was had by all. We also sponsored a successful after game dance. Junior class president was Tim Farra. A class party was held on Washington's birthday and a patriotic theme was carried out. The varsity basketball game was then attended en masse. The JUSTIN DE BOER V-ice President party was climaxed by an after game dance' with live music. The junior class sponsored the an- nual Spring Formal with April Showers as the theme. Our senior year we were again led by Dave Orkney. We enioyed many varied activities throughout the year. First was the annual New Student Recep- tion, held on October 8, 1963. For the Grant football garme our class made spirit ribbons and sold over 900 of the-m. Next was the Senior- Faculty basketball game. The senior team beat the faculty 59-57 in a real thriller before a packed house of 2,000. Over 400 dollars was made from the game and given to the ath- letic department. The last half of the year was very exciting. Packed together were our class party, Senior Week, the Senior Assembly, Baccalaureate, and at last - GRADUATION. As a famous scholar once said, Our Class is much like a porcupine- it has many fine points.
