Family Festival High Point of Dads' Year l The Dads' Club officers have had a very suc- l cessful year. They are: John Stimson, Treasurer, I Gordon Messner, Vice President, Don Loghry, Sec- retary, and Dick Taylor, President. i l 1 l T l l The Dads' Club has had a very successful year. Starting with the Football season. they had several Dads patroling for con- trol purposes and seating problems. They helped the P. T. A. with their Pancake Breakfast which is the high point of the P. T. A. year. The Dads' Club sponsored the Father-Son Banquet of which 450 boys had a night out with Dad. The Dads' Club also sponsored the Father-Daughter Banquet in which over 500 girls ate dinner and enjoyed a fashion show, with their first love, Dad. The Dads' Club also sponsored the Japanese wres- tlers when they were here. From February 16, until the middle of April, the Dads' Club was busy with the building of the Madison Mad House, the main door prize drawing at the Family Festival May 3 and 4. The Family Festival is the biggest event of Madison's Dads. All the work that the Madison High Dads' Club has con- tributed has been for the purpose of scholarships for the out- going Seniors. There are six scholarships given and five Grants for Aid. The scholarships are worth 500, 300, and 200 dollars. The grants are worth 100 dollars. Each year the amount changes depending on the amount of money the Dads' Club makes during the year and the need of scholarships and grants. On May 31, the Dads' Club held the annual Dads' Club Honor Assembly in which many Seniors were awarded schol- arships, grants, and certificates of honor for the grade point average of four point. It is hard to believe that such a prominent organization as this only has 300 members. We would like to commend the Dads' Club on a job well done for 1963. Mr. Cyril Butterfield, Madison's Vice Principal, talks to o group of Dads' Club members at one of their Tuesday meetings. 14
