Senators Acclaimed As years pass, schools become notable in cer- tain fields of academic and extracurricular activ- ities. Madison, like other schools, is proud of her fine heritage of achievements. A full trophy case proves she has received acclaim in sports, speech, publications, and drama. Madisonites academic accomplishments are in- dicated by their record of college attendance and scholarships. With forty per cent of Madisonites attending college, about thirty-five per cent of the seniors apply annually for scholarships. In 1965 alone, Senators received over S350,000 in scholarships. Most graduates have attended col- lege in the Northwest, but a few, some aided by scholarships, have gone to far-distant, academ- ically rigorous colleges including Yale, Harvard, Dartmouth, Wellesley, Carleton, Mills, Pomona, and Stanford.
