Here we are twelve years ago emu Wad In September of 1942, thirty-seven eager girls and boys entered the first grade at Madison Local. This class is the first to complete all twelve years in the new school building. Out of-the thirty-seven starting we have eight that are still here. During the next years in the grades we lost many friends and gained many In September of 1950, thirty Freshmen started the climb with Mr. R. O. Brown as homeroom teacher and graduation as their goal. For that year om' class chose Kenneth Robertson as President, Bob Downing as Vice Presi dent, Pat Ryan as Secretary, and Leona Hastings as Treasurer. Joyce Finchum and Harold Jones represented us on the Student Council. Dining that year we lost Floyd I-Iiese, Mitchel Crace, Bernadine Clevenger, Betty Darlington, Bob Darlington, Joe Cutlip, Bill Grove, Ralph Jones, and Bill Bussey. We gained Janet Bruce, Betty Penix, Nancy Call, Ronnie Hays, Beatrice Holbrook, and Steve Archer The next year we started with twenty-seven. Our homeroom teacher was Mr. Ronshiem. We, again, chose Kenneth Robertson as our President, Russell Knisley, Vice President, Betty Penix, Secretary, and Janet Bruce Treasurer. Harold Jones and Joyce Finchum again represented us in Student Council. During that year we lost Joyce Snyder, Barbara Clevenger, Sam Stires, Steve Archer, Ted Price, Beatrice Holbrook, and Kenny Reffit. We gained Jim Deffenbaugh. Our Junior year came soon and we started school with Mrs. Bangham as our homeroom teacher. Again, for a third time, we elected Kenneth Robertson as President, Russell Knisley, Vice President, Betty Penix, Secretary, and Harold Jones, Treasurer. Janet Bruce and Bob Downing represented us on Student Council. The height of our glory this year was the Junior and Senior Banquet. Our setting was Hawaiian and a wonderful banquet and dance. At last we reached our goal--Seniors. We started with twenty and lost one, Nancy Call. Again, because of his past experience and his ability, we chose Kenneth Robertson to be our spokesman and leader. We, again, chose Russell Knisley to aid him. Betty Penix was our Secretary and Faye Jenkins our Treasurer. Janet Bruce, Pat Ryan, and Joyce Finchum represented us on Student Council. Everyone was busy with plans for our Senior trip, club wak, concessions at ball games, and our many, many activities. Time is rapidly passing and soon graduation will be here. These have been successful years and all of us are sure to look back on these never -to-be-forgotten' days. This, fellow readers, concludes the past of the Class of 1954.
