They were given a rousing welcome by the Jun- iors with an initiation party, after which they became full-fledged mem- bers of Madison High School. After becoming Juniors, they had many new tasks before themg such as initiating the freshmen, choosing class rings, presenting the class play and preparing a Junior-Senior ban- quet. Girls were attired in overalls and flour-sack shirts, while the boys were decked out in dresses and high-heeled shoes. What sights and confusion prevailed that day! The closing event of the day was a picnic on Humes Field. Another event that was very im- portant to the freshmen and soph- omores was the first-place trophy they won in the tournament held at Battle Creek.
