Through 'lhese fhe +radi+ions of our school have been esiablished. Madison High School in Hs early days con- sis+ed of iusf 'lhree rooms on fhe second floor of 'lhe Green Avenue School. The iofal enrollmeni was sixly-five wilh +he graduafing class numbering 'I'en. Four feachers comprised ihe faculiy, and +he curriculum consis+ed of ma+hema+ics, English, languages, music, and drawing. The only ex1'ra-cur- ricular ac+ivi+y was a liferary sociefy, while a baseball and a baslrefball ieam were The iwo forms of spor+. We know +ha+ a+ presen+ over seven-hundred s+uden+s are enrolled in +he school, fhaf nearly 'For+y 'reachers comprise +he facul+y, and +ha+ +here are approximafely one hundred graduaies each year. Srudenf governmen+ has become an imporlanf parf of school life. Clubs, acfivifies, and sporls are so numerous and varied +he siudenfs' in+eres+s and 'I'alen+s are more fhan amply sa'I'isfied.
