Visibly tired, the Buc basketmen fought back to oust the Carmel Grey- guarded optimism. Losing four of the five final contests of the regular season, the Bucs found themselves on a rugged road to ride. The Highland Laddies provided the first obstacle. Coming out of season setbacks, the Corsair cagers commanded the challenge round. Han- dling the Laddies, Buck's men slid past Alexandria and downed the Aborigines from Anderson. Capturing the fourth sectional crown in the last five years the Bucs were itching for their first Regional net cut- ting. Entering the second round as underdogs, the Pirates exploded to an early lead and held on to topple Koko- Emotion overwhelms Pirate cheerleaders as theyjubilantly celebrate MH's first regional victory. hounds from the tourney and claim the regional crown. The Pirates traveled to Fort Wayne for the semi-state round. Meeting Gar- ret in the afternoon game, the Bucs derailed the railroaders with a tena- cious zone press. With little time to rest, the Pirates met Elkhart in the championship contest. Repeatedly the Blue Blazers tried to pull away but the relentless Pirates battled back.
