Exchange Students Helge Brochman and Jytte Pederson compare their impressions ofAmerica. .sf SEC welcomes Helge, J tteg sends Ron, Poll overseas The 1970-71 Madison Heights Stu- dent Exchange Club sponsored two students from foreign countries visiting M.H. and sent two more M.H. stu- ents abroad. Jytte Pederson traveled from Denmark and Helge Brochmann came from Norway to Madison Heights. Following graduation from M.H. Ron Waugh traveled to Germany and Polly Trimble went to Argentina. The Exchange Club held a fish fry before the annual Dad's Night football game on October 23 to help raise funds for the traveling students. Funds were also raised through the selling of 51.00 bonds. Student Council carries on dvisor Board Sophomore Marc Akers listens intently to what is said at one ofthe weekly Student Council meetings. Led by Fred McGuire, Lew Cot- ton, Sheiletha McNeal, and Lynn J Mickey, Council again directed the gif Mock Political program. Taking con- S trol of Homecoming, the Council pumped new life into the festivities. A record 23 Hoat entries entertained the half-time crowd this year. The Council gave a feeling of holi- day gaiety to the school with Christ- mas decorations. SC was also res- ponsible for conducting the elections t of Miss Scarlet and Mr. Black during Sectional Week and for sponsoring Been-Will Be games and talent show.
