ancy Lacey presides over Honor Society The purpose ofthe 1970-71 Honor Society was to bring outstanding high school students to the attention of their parents, peers, and community. Fulfilling the requirements, mem- bers strove to maintain the 3.4 grade average necessary to belong to the society. All new members of Honor Society were inducted in a ceremony which took place in February in the school cafeteria. Mrs. Lee Heckman sponsored Hon- or Society and Nancy Lacey presided at meetings. Other oflicers included Donna Zirkle, vice president, Secre- tary, Cathy Zerkleg and John Brehm, treasurer. Aided by these leaders, the group scheduled ice skating and a bake sale for the second semester. Thespians stage HCinderella, The Thespian play CinderellaN proved entertaining for people of all ages. The two other major plays sponsored by Thespians were the Junior Class play in April and the Senior Class play in October. Sponsor Mr. Jennings divided Thespians by classes into three sec- tions. Sophomores and juniors acted as apprentices. They learned the fundamentals of drama and had the opportunity to participate in Cin- derellan as well as several one-act plays. The best actors and actresses were honored at the annual awards ban- quet.
