Stretch To Include the Whole World Besides teaching the basic principles of our Constitutional Republic, Mr. Hunt presents his own philosophy of life. Mr. McLain controls a laugh as Nancy Michaels experiments with a part of the Stanford- Binet Intelligence test in psychology class. Through the Language and Social Studies Departments, students explore many phases of the whole world of man’s experience. In their history and government courses they develop an understanding of the influences and events that shaped our Western civilization, an appreciation of our American heritage, an interest in foreign cultures, and a concern for the problems of our times. The literature courses bring them the ideas of great men and an understanding of people beyond the range of their own experience. Speech and English classes teach them to use their own language effectively, while foreign language study gives them an insight into the structure of language and a further knowledge of other peoples. 13
