The next step, visiting the campus, takes Sandy and her parents to Ball State where she forms a first¬ hand” opinion. Apparently Sandy and Ball State both liked each other as we find Sandy acquiring more knowledge in the col¬ lege library. Armed with an electrographic pencil, Ted Pakes is intent if not stimulated by his application on the ardurous P. S. A. T. test. Stimulated The National Merit Scholarship Tesc rewards some with scholarships and others with a morning of no classes. 26

Don Cherry crowns Ann Waggoner as Miss Christmas Carol. Mat mu la ting awards Sharon Fraumann — 4-H Winner Delegates to Girls’ State are Pat Minneman, Carol Chapman, and Pat Ehle. Alternates: Pat Daley, Judy Webb, Karen Shoemaker. Each year the American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary sponsor Boys ' State and Girls ' State. The delegates are sent to Indiana Uni¬ versity where they participate in the activities of a model State. Delegates to Boys ' State are: John Alley, Tom Ross, and Ron Chapman. Alternates: Steve Larmore, Larry Wright, Bob Ferris. Ann Waggoner — D.A.R. i Janet Lackey won first place at the State Fair for her demonstration entitled Wash and Wear.” As a result of this achievement, Janet journeyed to New York and Washing¬ ton, D. C. with several other 4-H winners.
