DEDICATION Because she exhibits a genuine interest in our school life and activities, because she daily strives to impart to each student the maximum of knowledge and information, and because she constantly endeavors to instill in each of her students the desire for a high standard of achievement, we, the Staff of the 1949 edition of the Monelison, wish to dedicate this annual as a permanent token of our sincere appreciation to Mrs. Kate B. McDermott. FOREWORD As our days at Madison Heights High School are rapidly coming to a close, we offer you this little book which is the result of a desire to have some permanent record of our golden school days. The purpose of our book is to keep ever alive the memories of our friends, our work, and our play at school where days have gone by like a dream. Thomas The Current of Time” has within the past eight years brought more problems to our educational system than perhaps in any other like period of our history. The challenge could only have been met by the courageous and sympathetic leadership of our administrative officials. We are indeed indebted to Mr. A. J. Camden, Division Superintendent, and to Mrs. Bess W. Shrader, Chairman, Mr. J. F. Thomas, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Ashby Woods and Mr. Herbert J. Camden, of the board, for this leadership. Under their guidance and supervision, our school is ever becoming more conscious of the magnitude of its responsibilities and of the necessity for efficiently discharging them.
