A diploma in June, just as we hope to receive! To the Sophomores, we will: A faculty of strict disciplinarians, in order that they will know how to act before and after they graduate. The privilege of being honored guests at next year's Junior and Senior Banquet. To the Freshmen, We will: Padded walls and barred windows to keep them inside the school. The carefree manner which the Seniors so constantly and nonchalantly exhibit. ITEM IV SPECIAL BEQUESTS To Joann Crews, Jean's position on the basketball team. To Phyllis Connelly, some of Marian Carpenter's dignity. To Paul Campbell, some of Buck Hudson's ways with the women. To Carlton Layne, the privilege of ringing the bell next year. To Madeline Floyd and Wendell Overstreet, Betty Abbitt and Clayton Wright, the privilege of competing for next year's Romeo and Juliet. To Sylvia Singleton, some one to take Buck Hudson's place next year. To Gordon Foster, the ability to study like Linwood Coleman and the desire to attend school more often. To N. J. Thomas, Gerald's position on the basketball team. To Curtis Hudson, Glenn Ricketts' athletic ability. To Barbara Linthicum, the privilege of going to town without having to call Mother first. To Billy Woody, a special chair in which to sit when he is sent to Mr. Fulcher's office. To Emmett Carson, some of Brockman Mayo's ability to flirt. go Wendell and Clayton, the privilege of competing for next year's best looking oy. To Barbara Dodd, some of Barbara Layne's height. To any one who writes the will, the privilege of setting his own deadline. To Sherwood Stinnette, some of Sonny Robertson's height. To Paul Campbell, Neil Baldwin's position as Bing Crosby of M. H. H. S. To Robert Sigmon, some of Wilfred Brown's big mouth. To Elizabeth Bryant, some of Betty Pope's flesh. To the poor souls who write the will next year, the patience that Patsy, Betty, Brockman, and Maynard exhibited. MADISON HEIGHTS HIGH SCHOOL CLASS WILL We, the Senior Class of Madison Heights High School for the year 1947-48, being weary and worn by so much work do hereby unselfishly bequeath what remains within our power to bestow upon our less fortunate successors. . . ITEM I To our beloved Alma Mater, we will: . A gym for the Physical Education classes and the future basketball teams. A seventh period for club meetings only. A set of new girls' basketball uniforms. A student body that will use the trash cans instead of the floors. A lunchroom with signal lights to prevent traffic jams. A referee with whose decision everyone will agree. A crew of supersonic building constructors to finish the new consolidated school by next term. A new broom and dust pan to sweep up broken window glass. Some one to take our faithful Mr. Emurian's place. A soundproof music room, so the whole school won't be serenaded fifth period. ITEM II To our beloved Faculty, we will: To Mr. Fulcher, a new office floor, the old one being well worn by the ceaseless traffic in and out and a separate door for the students to make a quick exit when they are expelled. To Mrs. Davis, a Senior Class that will leave on the proper bell. To Miss Mitchell, the will power to refuse just one request asked of her. To Mrs. Harper, a sixth period bookkeeping class that will report on time. To Mrs. Sandidge, another Willie Glenn to pester her throughout the entire year. To Miss McPherson, a trig. class whose members can keep up with their books. To Mrs. Butler, a first period history class that will do their homework. To Mrs. Arthur, a piano bench to replace all those rickety chairs. To Mrs. Powell, another Latin class containing such dignified Seniors as those she had this year. To Mrs. McDermott, a class of students that will not ask to be excused so often. To Mrs. Stone, a fourth period class that will not ask to be excused to attend club meetings. To.Miss Watts, a bulldozer to level off the athletic field. To Mrs. White, a pair of earmuffs to prevent her hearing the dignified Seniors talking. To Mrs. Fraley, a modern Home Economics cottage with running water throughout the year.
