Q dicatiori We, the members of the Staff, in appreciation for all the inspiration, advice and guidance so cheerfully and helpfully given us, dedicate this, our 1947 Monelison, to Miss Virginia McPherson. Because of the warmth of her personality and the personal interest she has shown toward us, there is a special place reserved in our hearts for Miss Mac.” 3xyAexiu JuL . . . As the slanting rays of the setting sun announce the fast-approaching end of the happy days at M. H. H. S., the members of the class of ’47, for four years the ringleaders” of their beloved Alma Mater, prepare to enroll in the School of Experience, destined to play there an even greater role. Upon departing, they desire to leave behind an enduring memento of the good times shared by all. To represent M. H. H. S., its aims and ideals, its activities and interests, and to recall in retrospect across the years precious memories of our golden high school days; we, the Staff, present this, the nineteenth volume of the Monelison, to serve as a constant reminder.

We should also become aware of the fact that the freedom which we enjoy comes from a government based on democratic principles, and that this government will be preserved only as long as public education is promoted. The various students enrolled in the school of Amherst County are indeed fortunate in having the able leadership and capable guidance of Mr. A. J. Camden, Superintendent, and Mrs. Bess W. Shrader, Chairman, Mr. J. F. Thomas, Vice-Chairman, Mr. Ashley Woods and Mr. Herbert J. Camden, of the School Board. •f e y
