ADMINISTRATION -33- In this school many hopes and as- pirations have been born to result in victory or defeat. But either outcome has contributed some little bit toward making your life more valuable and more worth- while, Here has been real life, and your annual sho11ld help you in future years to recall every- thing that is worth remembering of your high school years. May you always be personally involved in Worthwhile experi- ences so that your contribution to society will be valuable and your memories most pleasant, Foster S. Randle One of the functions of East High is to aid students to realize their full abilities as individuals and at the same time to develop a sense of social responsibility. I hope the members of the 1952 class have made use of the oppor- tunities offered here. May every one of you in the future recall the East High spirit and have pleasant memories of years be- neath the towers. Alphonse J. Barrett , 4' Q Y, Img, nf r - 'E f ,, Vw' , . , P-' rv.. These sports oiter lnany advantages to the high sehool lad. They help hini develop his sports- inanship, lll1'I'f'2lSl' his eonipetitive Spirit, and teach hinl that working' eo-operatively with others brings better results. when boys are able to work with inen like the line eoaehes here at East, they ean't help building- better eharaeters. Something else that has eonle from these eoaehes is the winn- ing teams they have produeed. A lad can have no greater feeling' of satisfaetion than that he experi- enees when his football team wins a tough game or when his basketball team is victorious in the last few seconds of play. The players at East have had this experience for many years and will eon- tinue to have as long as the will to win prevails. As the doors of East close on the athletes of the senior elass, there are few who will forget the ex- eellent training' they have had here. F1'HIll every one of these boys go many unspoken thanks to the coaches of East, -118- A W , n J 4 - I. . Y I E.. I , 5-,., W 4 -Q , , v n 1 W f U.. f ' fa 1 we 1 N 4.. N. ' ', X I .4 1385, .
