Farewell To East Farewell to East our school so dear, We're through the last of mauy a year, Your towers shall staud iu each ouels heart' We waut to stay but have to part. 7 So loug, dear East, we hate to go, Our love for you shall ever glow, Cui' hearts were gay all through the years, Hut as we leave there'll be some tears. Yes, all of us, we loved the stairs, The coruers where we stood iu pairs, The halls where two would ofteu stroll, Arid each eye the other with all his soul. We sat iu cold at mauy a football game To cheer aud yell for East's fair uame. W' e strove iu sports, read Tower Times, We sat iu aud aud stood iri liues. IV e ran iu halls aud wrote iu books, Girls combed their hair to improve their looks, Some rooms worked hard, they didult lag, That's why they always got the flag. IV e had good teams, good coaches too, lfVith the cousolatiou title we came through. Test tubes were brokeu, Luggls tables scratched, Class of ,47 will ue'er be matched. We kids were tough aud thought we were smart, But grades came out to break oue's heart, Arid theu came Prom, the big eveut, Ufheu mauy a boy his mouey speut. Goodbye to East, the city's best, To us you're tops o'er all the rest,- Although we soou shall graduate, VVe'll always say, 'fHail, East, you're greatfw Dedicated to the class of '47 by jim Rose, class of '46
