IT was she who selecTed The spoT- The beauTiTul Tarm, as she called iT-upon which The school was builT. She had recenTly reTurned Trom a year's sTay in AusTralia where The Avondale school had been esTablished, under her caireTul guidance. And This new school in America was To be Tounded largely on The principles oT The one in AusTralia. ln The early years oT The school and unTil The Time oT her deaTh, Mrs. WhiTe conTinued her acTive supporT oT The work aT Madison. The sTudenTs have been TaughT To raise Their own crops, To build Their own houses, and To care wisely Tor caTTle and poulTry. They have been learning To become self-supporTing, and a Training more imporTanT Than This They could noT receive. Thus They have obTained a valuable educaTion Tor usefulness in missionary Tields. The class oT educaTion given aT The Madison school is such as will be accounTed a Treasure oT greaT value by Those who Take up missionary work in Toreign Tields. IT many more in oTher schools were receiving a similar Training, we as a people would be a specTacle To The world, To angels, and To men. The message would be quickly carried To every counTry, and souls now in darkness would be broughT To The lighT. LeT us sTrengThen This company oT educaTors To conTinue The good work in which They are engaged, and labor To encourage oThers To do a similar work. Then The lighT oT TruTh will be carried in a simple and eTTecTive way, and a greaT work will be accomplished Tor The MasTer in a shorT Time.
