CITY CHAMPQ In the 1962-1963 Junior High Basketball Season, Central’s Junior High Team won the first championship since 1947. They averaged 46.9 points per game as opposed to 32.4 points per game for their opponents. This team had the best height and shooting ability shown in the Junior High team in many years. Coach Olson said that although the team showed a great potential, there was need for full exploitation of the squad and never were they content to rest on laurels. ” SEASON RECORD Central 51 Faculty 61 Central 34 East 21 Central 43 Schenk 21 Central 55 Sherman 45 Central 64 Cherokee 32 Central 45 VanHise 29 Central 52 West 12 Central 55 Wis.High 50 Central 46 East 39 Central 37 Sherman 32 Central 52 Schenk 31 Central 40 Sophs 46 FINAL STANDINGS Central 10-0 East 7-3 Cherokee 7-3 Sherman 6-4 Van Hise 5-5 West 4-6 Schenk 1-9 Wis.High 0-10 BASKETBALL SQUAD R. 1: D.
