Her major problem now is Knglish. lthough she ha had four year of it in school, she find it very difficult to understand and speak. She also ftnilH it hard to adapt herself to our climate. In Costa Rica the temperature ranges from 50 75 degree all yrar 'round. She is bulking forward to winter with great anxiety, because -hr has never seen actual snow. This is Flory‘s fir t experience at a Co-educational school. She finds this can he distracting at limes. She attended her first football game when Ontral defeated Monona drove. Although she did not understand the game of football itself, she found it very interevting to watch the actions of the -peclators. She thinks our class room procedure is ex-cel lent because in the high school of Costa Rica the student do not participate in class discussions. Flory i- hoping to bring to us an understanding of her country, its pc- pie. its customs it- beliefs, and it ideals. In turn. For those who satisfactorily complete these courses, an opportunity to pain college credit is offered. By passing a test in either subject a student may pain a few credits, or he allowed to skip some college courses. However, this is not the main function of the program. It offers a challenge to the students by presenting material which fits their abilities, and which better prepares them for college. n
