ED pleasure, which will forever occupy a prominent place in my memory. I am very grateful to a wonderful and cooperative annual staff, and to our faculty advisor who has shouldered much of the responsibility in preparing this year- book and we present it to you with understandable pride and satisfaction. We sincerely hope that in years to come it will be cherished for the memories it recalls of dear friends and happy school days. Many new challenges now lie before us which we must meet with courage, faith, and steadfastness of purpose. Too soon, these yet-unseen challenges will also be memories. It is our fervent hope that the experiences which we have had this year, brought back to mind by this annual, will help us solve the challenges also. ffpa., 1 ,M For their untirihg devotion to MadisonAcademy since its conception, and for his work on the Board of Trustees, we, the Oracle Staff, proudly dedicate this yearbook to Mr. and Mrs. Joe D. The small Chorus, shown above, is composed of some 30 students who travel all over this section of the U.S. They are shown above as they rehearse for a program to be presented at the U. S. Naval Reserve Open House. The ones at the left are also a part of the Small Chorus but did not participate in that particular program. The Large Chorus, composed of about 50 members, sings mostly in the city of Huntsville. They produced most of the weekly radio programs the school participated in this year. Both Choruses are directed by Dwight Mowrer. 30 5 Y Y Large Chorus Another First gsumuglmmw W1 :wal mm , um: asv -Amir . was 1 I--mum mi' i' 'imv 'iN'w 'NSxSNiliikrQNT Ef'iWwnsuiLWmmxkswwwwmwwdwumwwmhgga it 1388285353 V311 . was Q an st in in an Y uuullalvlavd , ll fun! . We expect great things of this band as time goes by. Band Debate Last year, Madison Academy formed its first Debate Team. This team participated in several tournaments and debates and made a very creditable showing for itself. This year we are expecting an even better record as this team travels from tournament to tournament under the tutelage of Mister Roland Roberts. FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA. DAVID LIPSCOMH COLLEGE has pioneered in year-round college education, to which many forward-thinking institutions all over the nation are changing. Our first regular fourth quarter was offered in 1962. with 4138 students taking advantage of this opportunity. ln 1963. the total enrolled was 602. By 1967, this summer quarter lfourth quarter! student body is expected to reach 11100. possibly a third of whom will be freshmen. This is an age when time is of utmost importance-to you, to ,, in the fourth year an income equal to the cost of your three years the church. to the community. and to the nation. The sooner you can take your place as an educated citizen, the better it will be for all. 1 am especially hopeful that graduates of Madison Academy and other Christian schools will take advantage of year- round education at Lipscomb to equip themselves to go forth to serve the Lord in their chosen field as soon as possible. YEAR-ROKNISJ EDUCATION has many important advantages for you as a student.
