rinripalha arrange Ralph Waldo Emerson said, When it is dark enough, men see the stars. There is an old Orien- tal proverb that says, All sunshine makes a desert. Mature people are made not out of good times but out of bad times. It is in a crisis that the best in us comes to the front. We live in a age that is so turbulent, so confusing, so uncertain, that it is easy for us to become discouraged, bitter, and resentful. However, in all this gloom may we come to realize the importance of being led by the hand of the Eter- nal One. lt is in the night we see the stars which are invisible by day. ' It is the purpose of Madison Academy to not only point out to its students the exact condition existing in our world today, but to point them to the only one that can give real, true, lasting hope. All we expect of our students, and all that we want to develop within them is a mature outlook, reason- able expectation, a calm and steadfast mind and the patience with which to meet whatever comes with courage and faith in God, instead of with bitterness ' and resentment. Many of you will be returning to Madison Academy next fall. Every effort will be made to enable you to find a stronger Academy, a little better equipped to serve young people. Each year should be marked by progress, improvement, and growth. To those of you who will graduate, we wish for you a full life of personal happiness and concrete ac- complishment in the service of God. Those of us who will remain at the Academy next year, both students and teachers, will always be interested in you, your loved ones and your welfare. Your successes will bring us joy and you can be certain of our sympathy and understanding in times of sorrow and heartache. l, person- ally, will always want to help each of you whenever I can. It will always be a great disappointment to me if you do not call on me when you feel I can help you. May God bless you. Always keep us informed as to your whereabouts. Respectfully, MQAV7 ,eac-104-ca Harding Lowry Principal
