We have tried to make it represent all the school. We toyed with layouts, begged and pleaded with teachers for pictures, lists, to let kids out of classes, tiptoed around the halls looking for interesting “candids,” wrote copy, waited for pictures to be processed, many times we were caught at a standstill, waiting for events to happen. But in the end we all knew we would get the ’76 WILDCAT out. “Our policy is that people working on the yearbook WILL NOT appear on every page of the book!” (End quote of yearbook advisor Mrs. Kidd). So we didn’t get on every page. But, finally, we did get to pose—so here we are! Presenting the 76 Wildcat Yearbook Staff YEARBOOK ISNTRUCTOR-Mrs. Kidd 1. Delline Francis 2. Jennie Proctor 3. Mike Patterson, senior quarterback, was the only Wildcat named on the All-District offensive unit. Named on the defensive team were Danny Blakely, Charles Turner and Kurt Stumpff. Given honorable mention recognition from Madill were Ronnie King, Mark Tickel and Gary Reid. Patterson, Madid's leading scorer at 46 points who also figured in 15 other TD’s via passing plays, was one of the key men in the Wildcats’ rebuilt team this year. He was one of the two returning starters from the 1974 squad and the only one playing in the posi- tion he was familiar with. King, a key man in Madid’s defensive game at the linebacking position and a center converted to a running back, was the only other returning starter with the squad that last year captured the district title and went to the second round of the state play- offs before being defeated by Millwood, the eventual state champion. It has been a very special year for me. It has been my privilege to work with a fine student body, faculty and the Board of Education. I would also like to commend all other school employees for a job well done. The community has been great in its support of the educational process. The entire school plant has been air conditioned and the new gym will be completed during the summer months. This will be a fine new facility that each and everyone of us will be proud for many years to come. Congratulations, to the Annual Staff and sponsor for a job done well on this years annual. It will be some- thing that will become cherished as the years pass. Clovos Hull, Supt. As we reach the end of another school year we are inclined to reflect on the accomplishments made during the year by so many students and teachers. This has been a good year for our school. I would like to commend our stu- dents for the school spirit and enthusi- asm they have shown, which tends to make our school more outstanding. To our Seniors, I want to congratulate you for all you have contributed to our school. I wish you the very best of everything in the years ahead and hope you have a happy, successful life. J.M. Ayres I would like to express my appre- ciation to all of the fine individuals and organizations that help to make up our Junior High system. This includes not only the students, but to the parents and teachers. With their contributions this was a very success- ful school year. Hope we have many more years to come. R. Bradley This has been an extremely busy year for the Board of Education members John Pierce, Dan Coe, Robert Watts, Mona Mae Waymire, and Leroy Davis. More educational opportunities for the student was the reason for the change that highlighted the Madill school year, 1975-76. A good school board is leading to a better school for the student body. THAN KS to those who provided pictures for use in this book—the Madill Record, Bobby Crook and the Wildcat Staff. THANKS to the faculty and administration who so pa- tiently helped us with our pictures and copy. THANKS to the Wildcat Staff. There are not enough words to express my thanks to David Await, Jeanie (Knight) Proctor, Cary Burton, Tammy Phillips, Deline Frances, and Carla Rodermon. Without this group, it could never have been done. Through the year they have supplied the answers and encouragement that made this book possible. THAN KS would be incomplete without the mention of our publishing company, Henington Publishing Com- pany and a special thanks to our representative Mr. lack Nimmo. I SINCERELY THANK all of you for a good year. 152
