Wildcat 74 Madill High School Madill, Oklahoma The 1974 Wildcat presents the sto- ry of life at Madill High School. Life as it really was; not a build-up of the school nor a cynical view of a few. It is the story of the WHOLE student body. If you don't find anything here you can identify with, don't blame the school or the book. Blame yourself. After all, the dividends of school match exactly the invest- ments. School life is the first step to un- derstanding what makes the world tick, and the whole world needs understanding. Madill High School is no different. Ask any student why he is here. If he knows, it will be at best, be a vague answer. Probably, when you get down to it, we're all here to find ourselves. For some the search is easy ..For others it will be a never ending task. Psychologists tell us there are two types of people: success-seekers failure-avoiders. Which kind of person are you? Haste, that notorious enemy of memories, turn; awareness into forgetfullness and momentous ex- periences are over almost before they're begun. Fun times, unique times become lost times. .. . unless they achieve immortality between the cover; of a book. YEARBOOKS can make time stand still. Johnson—Business Office Education This annual is a tribute to our Annual Staff mem- bers, who have devoted so many hours of hard work to complete it for our enjoyment. As the years go by this annual will become more valuable. I would like to express my appreciation to the faculty and students for their co-operation and efforts toward making this a good school year at Madill Junior-Senior High School. Principal To the Annual Staff and their sponsor, I would like to offer my congratulations for a lot of hard work and a job well done. Madill is a fine school and this year's student body, faculty and employees have been wonder- ful in their cooperation with the educational pro- cess. I believe this to be one of the best years we've had and it has been a joy and pleasure to work with such a group. The Board of Education has devoted much time and effort to help make the Madill Schools a better educational institution and they are to be com- mended for their contribution. The primary purpose of each of us, as educators, is to leave more here on earth than we brought with us, or than we will leave with. Life can be compared to a huge game, with the Supreme Being serving as Referee. When He blows the whistle to end your game—will you be able to say, I did my best. Students: Never give up, because a quitter has never won—and we will never give up on you until you give up on yourselves. You are children of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here and whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding to you. When it is completely unfolded, you must be pre- pared, because it will only pass this way once. You are great.
