ALL STATE FOOTBALL This page is deciated to George Stokes who has taken part in football, basketball and track throughout junior high and senior high in Madill. George, “the wit” was playing first string tackle his freshman year. He was a mere 5’ 11“ tall and only weighed 180 pounds! Tackle was his position in high school, too. He played first string defense his sophomore year and was first string offense and defense his junior and senior years. Making All-State was his reward for his efforts in football. George didn’t make the tip in basketball until his junior year. He played second string his freshman year and was on the “B“ team his sophomore year. Stoke’s favorite shot is a “hook” or “jump” and with the aid of these “Junior” has, so far this year, a 13 point average. George has racked up 210 points last year and has scored 123 points this year. In track, long, tall Stokes likes to throw the discus and the shot-put. Stokes will be going to Oklahoma University next year, to play football with the sooners, with a full scholarship.
