Above: David Ascanio breaks through the Fresno High Defensive Line with the help of the Madera High Junior Varsity blockers. players Above: During the same Fresno High game, David Ascanio looked for an open receiver. : A season not as well as expected for Madera High's Junior Varsity Football squad was also a season of learning. Many of the gridders had experiences that will boost their spirits for years to come. The players were also taught the value in setting goals for oneself and it is this that gave the players a feeling of accomplishment. Leaders in everyway were also the most dependable players such as Richard Rodriquez, Chris Solorio, Craig Wilcox, Verlin Bishop, and Jim Fergeson. These were the players who helped keep the team together with a 4-4-1 season. Many of the players plan to go on to the Varsity squad and be a part of Madera’s football heritage.
