Ue A A Reading and Freshman English were taught by MRS. MADELYN JONES. This was Mrs. Jones’ fourth year at Madera High, one year includes her student teaching. At UC Davis and Fresno State, Mrs. Jones majored in French and minored in both English and History. While in college Mrs. Jones made the Dean’s list for several semesters. This year she is teaching Freshman English and Short Stories. Mrs. Shwartz attended UC Davis, Fresno City and Fresno State University. Ske majored in English and minored in Psychology. The exciting and overpowering freshman Blue Football Team was a success not only from the standpoint of win and loss, but also from the experience taught to each player. A 5-2 record was carried mainly by the most dependable players such as Michael McCallister, Victor Valdiva, Kent Sagouspe, and Greg Johnson, but still other players had a lot to do with the victories of Madera. With so many players interested in football, Madera has two squads to give players more action and experience. The second squad for Madera Freshman football is the White team. The best of the white team were Frank Urrutia, Ricky Madellin, and Ben Galindo. These were the players who always were the ones who gave 100%, and it was thes e people who helped the team end with a 4-1 season.
