The 1975-76 school year at MHS started off much more organized with much less confusion due to the new Walk Around Registration (WAR) in operation for the first time at MHS. Freshman orientation came early in the week; Freshmen students met in the boys gym where the band played and pep girls did routines, Student Body Officers, learning coordinators, advisors, vice-principal and principal were all introduced who then informed the students of all the necessary information. At the end of the week the Sophomore, Junior and Senior students began their registration. Students reported to the gym in order of groups decided last Spring. They then continued on to the Language Arts to register. Reasons for the change in registration were to limit confusion by allowing students to choose the courses, teachers, and periods they wanted to take the course. Naturally, if you were in the last group in your class to register, you may have had to make some adjustments in your schedule. Along with registering, students were given an opportunity to buy their student body cards and 1976 annuals and choose their lockers. Mr. Gerry Johnson, Junior learning coordinator, was in charge. = Below: Berry Benard can't get untangled from all of the red tape of Madera High's new form of registration.
